Back to December.

Hey there! I'm aware it's already the end of January 2014 and I should try to be more updated with my blogging. Anyway, I promise this will be my last post about 2013. December has always been my favourite month simply because it's the school holidays and also the month of many joyous celebrations, which makes December ten times more awesome. Here's my eventful last week of December 2013! Just a warning, it's going to be a very long post. Enjoy!

23 December 2013: Christmas Party with 1331!

I invited my classmates over to iResidences to celebrate Christmas. We had pot luck for dinner, exchanged gifts, watched The Purge, played a game whereby no one was allowed to go to the bathroom unless you have a certain card (Omg I nearly peed in my pants, stupidest game ever hahaha) and had a sleepover! Time spent with 1331 is always great, and this time was no exception. Thanks for coming over guys, hope you all had a wonderful time like I did! :D
The Aglio Olio I cooked for the Christmas dinner! Recipe by Laura Vitale aka Laura in the Kitchen.
Sitting in a shopping cart with my Christmas hat. Friends, I'm sorry if I embarrassed you in the supermarket.
Dinner time! We had aglio olio, mashed potatoes, chicken salad, fruit salad, sausages, sandwiches, fresh fruits and sushi!
1331 girls! We should've taken a group shot with the guys too haish!
Oh, we celebrated Jingyi and the other November and December babies' birthdays too!
Bimbo bitches wishing you all a MELLI CHRISTMASU.
Stayed up all night and watched the sky turn bright. (Slept shortly after taking this photo hahaha)

24 December 2013: Christmas dinner at Mark's place!

For the second time, Camy and I were invited to Mark's house for Christmas dinner! While the sisters and I were stuffing ourselves with the dinner spread prepared by Mark's sister, we made a dinner reservation for our parents at Chikuwa Tei to celebrate their 28th anniversary in advance. Actually the only reason why Camy and I wanted to go to Mark's place for Christmas is because his sister cooks really fantastic food haha. Thanks for inviting us over!
Parents looking chic in white.

Salted caramel brownies.. It tastes as good as it sounds. I need to learn this recipe!
Look at the dinner spread and that glossy honey baked ham.. so yummy!! *drools all over my laptop* heh.
How can I not resist myself from taking a second helping, you tell me! Btw, those utensils aren't stainless steel, they're plastic. How cool is that hahahahaha!

25 December 2013: Christmas day!

The family exchanged presents in the afternoon and here's what we got for each other yay!
From the sisters.
Chanel lipstick (and disposable camera) from oli because I kept using hers in Japan <3
Victoria's Secret undies from Camy because I insisted I am a VS angel HAHAHAHA just kidding.
Kate Spade Saturday Inside-Out-Pocket bag from the parents! I swear it was a love at first sight with this gorgeous bag hehe.
Kikki.K "A sentence a day" book from Mark, whereby I have to answer a question everyday. It's really cool!
Oli had a long wish list for her birthday and Christmas, so Camy and I decided to trick her by putting the Naked 3 into an Irregular Choice shoe box (that belongs to me) hahaha.
When oli received her present from daddy, we all thought it was a candle and got excited. But when she opened it, it was actually a pounder (is this the correct term?). He got it because oli can't swallow her pills hahaha we immediately LOL hahahaha.
Camy's presents from Daddy, Oli and I!
2 pairs of Melissa shoes from daddy, the sisters and I.
For a man who has almost everything and is currently obsessed with records, the sisters and I decided to give him record… COASTERS from Typo hahaha.

In the evening, we invited the Wongs over for a Christmas BBQ dinner.
I feel like I'm out of the frame because I somehow look gigantic here hahaha.
Merry (belated) Christmas everyone! :D

27 December 2013: Yi zhang's 60th surprise Birthday dinner!

My cousins planned a surprise sweet 60 birthday dinner for their dad at Roland Restaurant. Yi zhang was super surprised when he saw all of us gathered at the restaurant. The food was not too bad. We also had a karaoke session while eating.. I didn't know the Tay family love singing so much.
The theme was orange but as you can see, not many wore orange.
It felt like a wedding dinner when yi zhang came over to take a group photo hahaha.
Group shot!

28 December 2013: #oligottickledpink

It was Oli's birthday and she had no plans with her friends at all so we spent the whole day together. In the morning, Camy and I decided to whip up brunch for the birthday girl. I woke up early (early, I mean 10am) and went grocery shopping, bought all the ingredients and hurried home to start cooking before the pig woke up.
On the menu, we have avocado toast with poached egg and poppy seed pasta salad. The poached eggs were so difficult to cook, it was really tricky. We failed the first few attempts and finally got the last 3 eggs almost right.. I think haha.
Btw, I was proud of my pasta salad because it tasted delicious. The poppy seed pasta was mixed with shredded mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, basil leaves, garlic, olive oil and vinegar. It's really simple to make and I prolly would cook this again!

After brunch, the sisters and I went to sing karaoke at K suites for 3 hours. We made a dinner reservation at Standing Sushi Bar at 7.30pm, but we reached there 10 minutes late. While leading us to the seats, I heard one of the waitresses murmur "you guys are late". We got kinda annoyed because it was just a mere 10 minutes and that statement was so unnecessary. Luckily, she apologised and the food also made up for that. I was satisfied with the dinner!
In case you can't see, that's a dragon roll hahaha!
Here's my teriyaki beef set!
All dressed in pinku for oli's birthday dinner!
Crazy sisters in action again.
HAHAHAHA BABY OLI.
2 cool 4 u.
Oli's hello kitty cake from Mark who was overseas for work.
Mummy getting too excited while singing the birthday song hahahahaha.

Lastly, a selfie with the da jie! <3

29-30 December 2013: Staycation at MBS!

It was my parents' 28th anniversary, so mummy wanted to surprise daddy with a staycation at MBS! Before that, we had family lunch at Jamie Oliver's Italian Restaurant at vivo city. We waited for about an hour before we got our seats. To our disappointment, the food was not up to standard. In short, the food was awful (sorry!). If Jamie Oliver were to find out what his chefs are doing, he'd be so mad. However, the only plus point was the atmosphere of the restaurant. I don't think I'll ever come back to this place.. Bleah.
I ordered crab spaghettini and it wasn't that great.
Sadly, the truffle fries was pretty average.
AWWW! To 28 years of marriage and many many more <3

We lied to daddy we needed to go MBS to pick up something for oli's friend's wedding that night so that he would drive us there. In the end, we reached the car park and took all our small baggages out of the car. That was when he realised we were going to stay for a night! His reaction was priceless hahahaha.
View from our hotel room.
It was my first time up at the Skypark! Initially, I was looking forward to it, but when I saw the amount of people up there, I was completely turned off. I still enjoyed the breeze and the skyline of Singapore though.
Oli left for her friend's wedding, so the 4 of us walked over to Gardens by the Bay in the evening for dinner.
As mummy was craving for satay, we went to the food court at Gardens by the Bay and enjoyed the local delicacies. The thai tofu thingy, char kway teow and carrot cake were pretty good, just that it is overpriced.
At night, Camy and I took a dip in the infinity pool. The night view of Singapore is magnificent! :D

31 December 2013: New Year's Eve Party!

I invited my secondary school friends over for 2014 countdown party! We ordered Dominos pizza for dinner and chilled in the living room till it was time to countdown. It was fun spending the last few hours with the people I care about. After we pop the party poppers, we all went cray cray singing, shouting and dancing. I love these people <3
With my first friend in Secondary school!
HAPPY 2014!!! :D

& that concludes my 2013. Yet another chapter has closed and now I'm embarking on a new one.. Excited yet anxious for the challenges awaiting for me. Bring it on, 2014! Xoxo.
