Stay strong, ye ye!

On Friday night, my paternal grandfather fell down and was unable to get up by himself. He is 90 this year and lives alone. Fortunately, his children take turns to buy him meals every day. My eldest aunt found him lying on the ground when she visited him on Saturday. So apparently, he was lying on the ground, helplessly, for the whole night. My aunt called the ambulance and civil defence so that the firefighter could break the door open. My grandfather was then immediately sent to the hospital. The doctor said he had a lung infection that triggered a heart attack. He must have felt really helpless and scared when he was all alone at home. Sigh. :(

Today I woke up with a heavy heart and butterflies in my stomach. While I was sleeping, my mum told my sisters and I that she and my dad were going to the hospital because my grandfather's condition wasn't looking too good. And that reminds me of a particular morning, nearly 14 years ago, where my dad came into my bedroom and told us that my maternal grandpa had passed away. The feeling was equally terrifying. This morning, I was sincerely hoping that nothing serious would happen to my grandfather. I visited him this evening and I was heartbroken. The car journey to the hospital was quiet and filled with anxiety. When I finally saw him in the icu ward, I couldn't help but to tear at the sight of his condition. My heart sank. I couldn't look him in the eye because it was too painful for me. Even though his condition was stable at that moment, it still didn't feel right. He was aware of his surroundings and was able to talk to us, which was great. He called out my sister's name and mentioned that he was never going to see us again. That was when I started crying. I tried holding back my tears, but I just couldn't put up a strong front before him. The word "never" never seemed so scary before. He also said he wouldn't be able to make it to my sister's wedding. He said he didn't understand why this had to happen to him. For a 90 year old man, he was considered healthy and was able to take care of himself. But because of one fall, he became weak and suffered. Of course, we told him not to worry and he would get better. And I hope he really does get better.
Stay strong, ye ye! I love you <3

I'm sorry for being so negative. Today was kind of a rough day and I just had to pen down my thoughts. I believe everything will be fine tomorrow. Goodnight.

Year of the Horse II

CNY Day 3: My classmates and I visited 5 houses to bai nian. I travelled from home to Lakeside > Hougang > Kovan > Lorong Chuan > Woodlands, that's almost the entire Singapore hahaha. I think we spent more time on travelling than sitting in the house. I was so tempted to sit all the way to Joo Koon, but too bad, I was already late haha! I felt like I was in another country because I was so unfamiliar with the place. Thanks to 1331, I get to travel to places I've never been to before. :D
First stop: Jiahao's house!
All dressed up to go bai nian!

We spent 30 mins trying to flag a cab down at the junction and were all sweating like crazy. Meanwhile, the girls took loads of selfies under the scorching sun.
Second stop: Soo Peng's house for lunch!
Third stop: Jenna's house! This feels like a family photo. So thankful to be part of this class, where everyone's so accepting of one another <3

JR hasn't send us the rest of the group photos, I'll post them once I have them all. Anyway, I was beyond exhausted by the time I got home at midnight, nonetheless I had an enjoyable time with 1331! :) Thank you to those who invited us over to their place for cny!

CNY Day 5: Oli invited her friends over for steamboat so it means I get to feast again!!! This is exactly why I love cny. Yumz in my tumz!

CNY Day 7: First of all, 人日快乐! After a hectic day at school, I met up with my secondary school friends for dinner! I went to TP to look for Huishi, Ziqing, Justin and Xavier before heading to Tampines round market to eat zi char.
Looking like crap in PE attire compared to the rest.
CHOIR GIRLS 4EVAAAAA <3

CNY Day 8: Spent Friday night with my bestie because we have this irrational thought that Friday nights are for chilling and not studying.
Camy sent me this photo while I was iMessaging yx. Apparently she could see our conversation (I think because we share the same iTunes account) and she couldn't stand how indecisive I am so she replied our convo (the last reply was from her). HAHAHA. I can't stand how indecisive I am too :(
Tried on this outer space looking dress from Topshop. So tempted to buy it because it was on sale, but where can I wear it to!?! HAHA.

We went to Lenas at Tampines 1 for dinner and then Paris Baguette cafe for dessert. I swear we're fat pigs.
Strawberry and mango flavour! I still prefer the original royal pudding!

CNY Day 9: My cousin invited my sisters and I to her house for cny lunch. Thanks for inviting us over and the home cooked lunch, Eugenie and Mike! :D I just realised I don't have a photo with the hosts oops!
A for Amelia, duh.
The reason why we took with this double yellow arrow is because my cousin and her husband always take their ootd shots at their house carpark. So we purposely took this and sent it to them before going to their house hahaha. #carparkseries

I left their house in the evening to meet my chingul at whitesands and her dad sent us to ikea for dinner yay! We ordered a table full of food and amazingly finished all of it. No surprise why we're single hahahahaha.
*eye smile*

CNY Day 10: Kai ma invited my family and I over to her house for lunch buffet. We gambled and took lots of silly polaroids. Since I've been playing with them for more than 10 years, I guess I can call them my childhood friends? I love how when we're together, we just go cray cray.

CNY Day 15: Finally, on the last day of cny, which is 元宵节 and also Valentines' Day, I was left alone at home.. Nah, just kidding. My sisters went out with their bfs and my parents went to my aunt's house for a double date and me? I tagged along to my chingul's grandparents' house for dinner. HAHAHA. My mum asked if I wanted to follow her to my aunt's place, of course I said no, I don't wanna be the light bulb. So Mr and Mrs Ching babysat me for the night and fetched me to the grandparents' house. We had the last lou hei and steamboat for cny this year. I was in a food coma by the time I got home at midnight as I was being fed continuously at their house hahaha. Thanks for inviting me! :)
My Valentine this year. HAHAHAHA.
Thank you mama ow and papa ow for the lovely Valentines' day gift! Love you both <3 <3

Ending the post with a video about love <3

Year of the Horse

Happy Lunar New Year everyone! 祝大家新年快乐、身体健康、恭喜发财、年年有余、心想事成、龙马精神、马到成功、马年行大运!HUAT AH!!

Chinese New Year has always been my favourite festival of all. You guessed it! The goodies, the ang paos, the once a year blackjack, new clothes, new bag, new pjs, most importantly, gatherings with family and friends! Unlike most people who will go house to house visiting during cny, my family's tradition is everyone gather at someone's house and we feast the entire day haha!

The weekend before cny, my aunt and 2 cousins came over to bake her signature pineapple tarts and kueh lapis. We spent both Saturday and Sunday baking 21 bottles of pineapple tarts and 6 kueh lapis. We were all so worn out by the end of Sunday. I can't believe my aunt used to bake the same amount of goodies all by herself. Calling for helpers next year or else I'll suffer!! HAHAHA.

Reunion Day: In the morning, my school had a cny celebration and every class was supposed to dress up according to a cny theme. And my awesome class went as HUMAN YU SHENG HAHAHAHA. Anyway I stupidly thought that half the school would wear home clothes… So I wore casually to school. It turned out my schoolmates were boring people and most of them wore half u. It made me mad and embarrassed at the same time. Sigh, I should've known..

That aside, my class won the most meaningful photo for the Instagram contest yayy!! We lou hei-ed and had a surprise birthday celebration for Soo Peng and Jenna! I love mah class.
Human Yu Sheng. (not exactly the same, but close enough!)

#louheiwith1331

After class reunion lunch at Mad Jack, I went back home and prepared to have reunion dinner (STEAMBOAT) with the Ow family!
I didn't take a photo of the steamboat, so here's yu sheng made by my aunt for you.

CNY Day 1: Like the usual cny routine, we took more than an hour to doll up, then took a bunch of family photos and bai nian to the parents before heading to my eldest uncle's house!
Wasn't ready for the self-timer shot haha!
Family photo! <3
 Cutie parents!
Sorry for the bright photos, I am too lazy to edit.
 Selfie in the car!
Outfit inspired by Blair Eadie. I super love her style! Yes la, I admit she pulls it off better than I do haha.
 With my lovely grandpa!
Bai nian to my grandma. The hand sticking out is my eldest aunt who was trying to get an ang pao from grandma hahaha.
Why are my dad and his da jie so gross hahahaha bewbz and nipz!
The one and only uncle kit who will wear red velvet pants and floral shirt. Loud and crazy style runs in the Ow family.
My big family! There're some more cousins living overseas!
Introducing MR.T!!!! He's soooo adorable.
With my niece, Genevieve who loves to sing. She kept bugging me to sing Let it go and Do you wanna build a snowman with her so kewt.
With my cousin sean sean and my nephew, Eugene.

CNY Day 2: I woke up at 9.30am to accompany my mum to the temple to pray to my late grandfather and bai tai sui (拜太岁). I heard from my mum that those born in the year of rat may not have a smooth year. Since this year is an important year for me, I decided to pray for health, studies and all things good. Also, it has been a few years since I last visited my late grandfather. Although I was only 4 when he passed away, I still can remember the things he always did and said to us, his grandchildren. I miss him <3

We then headed to chef Louis' house for lunch in the afternoon!
Don't worry, I was wearing skorts haha.
Polka dots. Thanks Janice for this outfit from bkk! <3
With my cousin, Aaron.
With Jaeng Hee who looks like a Korean boy.
With si yi who looks super like xiang yun hahahahahaha.
With my cousin, Samuel!
 CHUBBY! <3
Sad face cuz I lost money :(
As usual, we all drank gong cha.. It's becoming a tradition haha.
With the girls/women in the Tay family!

In the evening, Oli and Camy left to go to their bf's place and the parents went to Auntie Connie's house to play mahjong. I didn't wanna follow because I know I'll be bored and then annoyed at the adults for playing mahjong haha. So I went to crash Yuexin's house! Her friends were at her place but I was thick skinned and went anyway hahaha I really hope her friends won't mind. And it was my first time in 7 years going to the bffl's house to bai nian woo thanks for letting me come over!

See ya later, alligator.
